Have you ever wondered how much hard work and dedication goes into becoming a ballerina? Well, I never could have imagined that I would need to attend ballet school at least five days a week. Usually, I have classes for about 10 1/2 hours a week. My name is Noelle Lipinski, I am 12 years old and in 6th grade. Ballet school was an immense change for me, because I previously attended dance for one or two days a week, for only 45 minutes. When I took my first class with Michael Patterson, I was very nervous, but also very excited for the experience. After the class, I knew I wanted to learn more. I began dancing at the age of 3, but I did not begin dancing at the Patterson School of Ballet until I was 11 years old. I was 10 when I took the summer intensive, though. The summer intensive inspired me to work hard and become the best dancer I can be. I am very proud of myself for how far I have come. Michael also gives us the opportunity to see professional ballet companies perform, and we are able to see what it is like in the professional world of dance. I am so lucky to have started dancing with Michael, because I have learned so much about ballet, met many great people, and have made wonderful friendships. I am very excited to see what the future holds for me.
