Congratulations to Patterson School of Ballet Alumni Francesca Carlo and Nicholas Shewfelt who will be joining Ballet Palm Beach for their 2021-2022 Season!

Francesca Carlo

Francesca has been dancing since she was three years old, but began her more intense studies at age eight in Erie, PA with Gina Illingworth. She trained at the Rock School for Dance Education for their year round program, and has also trained at the Patterson School of Ballet under the artistic direction of Michael Patterson, and Barbara Sandonato as the artistic advisor. Francesca is a 2021 graduate from Point Park University’s Conservatory of the Performing Arts, and received her BFA in Dance as a Ballet Concentration. In recent years, she has performed the Lilac Fairy variation from The Sleeping Beauty, along with roles from Swan Lake, and Coppélia. 

Nicholas Shewfelt
 

Originally from Orlando, FL, Nicholas moved to Erie, PA and discovered his love for dance in high school.

He trained under the direction of Michael Patterson and Barbara Sandonato at the Patterson School of

Ballet. He thereafter attended and graduated from Point Park University’s Conservatory of the

Performing Arts, and now holds a BFA in Dance with a Concentration in Ballet. His favorite roles include

Solor from La Bayadere, Arabian from The Nutcracker, Swan Lake Pas de Trois, and the Slave Variation

from Le Corsaire.
